I’ve been bred

For this game

Lived and breathed it

All life long

Some chase the Game

Until the Pros

I played High School

Now I’m tthru.

My son will play

He’ll be bred into the game

And I’ll sit in the Stands

While I watch him

Until he’s thru.

The game won’t ever die

It’s been here too long

But I’ll sit in a lounge chair

Humming a football tune

And when you die

In Heaven

They’ll play football too.
