In 1901, President Theodore Roosevelt officially named the Executive Mansion the “White House”. Before that, the White House had been called several names, including the “President’s House”, and the “Executive Mansion”. Since nearly every U.S. state had an “executive mansion” for its governor, President Roosevelt believed the name “White House” would distinguish it as the official residence of the President of the United States.
President Theodore Roosevelt-a Racist of the Highest Order. A White Man’s Whitest White Man. The Whitest in all the Land and so, he Called his Home-THE WHITE HOUSE…for “White Man Privilege over Black Man”. Or was it, NO, don’t say it was so…?
A Racist whose beliefs reflected those of the elite of this period, Roosevelt thought African Americans to be inferior to white citizens. Although he invited Booker T. Washington, one of the leading philosophers of the time (and African American) to dine at the White House, he also dismissed 160 black soldiers from service, assuming them all to have colluded in a criminal shooting spree.
Here are exerts, but I highly recommend that you read all of the above-
Most certainly all clear-sighted and generous men in the North appreciate the difficulty and perplexity of this problem, sympathize with the South in the embarrassment of conditions for which she “The South” is not alone responsible, feel an honest wish to help her where help is practicable, and have the heartiest respect for those brave and earnest men of the South who, in the face of fearful difficulties, are doing all that men can do for the betterment alike of white and of black. The attitude of the North toward the negro is far from what it should be…that the backward “colored” race be trained so that “it” may enter into the possession of true freedom while the forward race is enabled to preserve…Nor is it only necessary to train the colored man; it is quite as necessary to train the white man, for on his shoulders rests a well-nigh unparalleled sociological responsibility…For weal or for woe we are knit together, and we shall go up or go down together…
Common Sense says it is now past Time to end calling the President’s Home- “The White House” and call it the Executive Mansion or House or President’s Home. “White” is the most utterly “In Your Face” example in Modern History of Past 1901-2020 White Privilege, of White Supremacy, of White Man’s House, and of
RACISM…and in 1901, it meant WHITE for White Supremacy and nothing more to appease…the Voters in the SOUTH!
Yes, for Re-Election…and it worked.
