THANKSGIVING CHOCOLATE PECAN PIE
for that Special Person
I mean truly you and your family.
for that Special Person now presented to you
by the living breathing James Brown
Chocolate Pecan Pie that will impress anyone
and if it’s NOT GOOD, then why make it right?
Okay, how about that famously insanely wonderful
Chocolate Pecan Pie that my Grandmother made for me and the one she wanted me to remember her by.
Well, I did and I think of her every time I make it and now, you can make it too.
Pretty cool and it is so very easy.
And now, I’m gonna toss it your way.
Yes, the pics are that marvelous pie I made today
And it was so gosh darn good and Chocolate-ty!
Okay, quit searching all over the Internet to find an easy and super delicious pie Recipe with tons of Stars beside them. And in the end, you don’t know how those will taste.
HERE IT IS-
Super Simple-This is what my grandma taught me. Easy to make and it goes fast when you got folks that like Chocolate Pecan Pie. They will love it and eat it up very quickly.
Nestle TOLL HOUSE SEMI_SWEET MORSELS and
FRESH PECAN PIECES
PLEASE NOTE THREE ITEMS IN THIS PICTURES WHICH i do-
COOKIE SHEET with aluminum foil on top of it for placing
YOUR READY TO COOK PIE into the OVEN.
This is to keep any OVERFLOW from the cooking pie falling down to the bottom of your OVEN.
This is what I used. A PYREX Mixing Bowl too. And see that Plastic Hand Held Mixer. But keep reading because I write and I’m not Betty Crocker, but I love her COOKING BOOK that I highly recommend for anyone. Funny, I wonder how different my grandma’s recipe was from hers? But I hardly look in that book no more after an Army of Cockroaches got into the same drawer her book was in. Man, that was a mess. But after using a Professional Bug. Get Ridders Outfit, they’re gone and been gone for over 20 years now. And those Bug Guys come around every three months to do their magic.
But get ready to have some fun. Read the following and see if you already got what you need to make YOUR PIE. Nope, not mine, not my grandma’s. This is gonna be your moment to put happy smiles on some loved ones faces.
Let’s Get it all Ready-Okay-
PRE-HEAT your OVEN to 375 degrees
Take out your Frozen Pie Shell from the Freezer about 30 minutes before you prepare your Pie for baking. It takes little time to make this. Takes longer to get all your Ingredients and other stuff together than to make the actual pie.
and other sorts of stuff you gonna NEED-
A. 1-Regular Frozen 9-inch DEEP DISH PIE SHELL-I used a Kroger Pie Shell this time.
USE A REGULAR DEEP DISH PIE SHELL AND NOT A GRAHAM CRACKER PIE SHELL. They sell these in the Frozen Food Section with two in each plastic container. I only took out one and made only one pie. But on Thanksgiving, I will make two or four. They are that good.
B. 1-Cup Imperial Sugar-you know the white granular sugar.
C. 1/3 stick of unsalted Butter-BUT MELT IT FIRST. I did this in the Microwave for about 30 seconds.
D. 3-Eggs Yes, the whole eggs except the egg shells, you can leave them out.
E. 1-Cup of Pecan Pieces (I always WASH THEM in water like I do Pinto Beans and Drain the water three times and set them to the side TO DRY).
F. 1-Cup DARK KARO syrup. I use the DARK as I was taught to use and it makes it just right. It’s super Old-Fashioned and it will be a crowd pleaser for sure.
G. 1 and 1/2-Cups Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels.
And now get ALLL this stuff ready to make this wonderful Pie that they are gonna love
you for making or bringing it to Your Thanksgiving Supper or Dinner.
This is the one that they will want year after year.
Get a large HAND MIXER.
Get a Large Mixing Bowl.
NUMBER ONE-Be sure to do this-While you are mixing all of this up, you want to PRE-HEAT the OVEN to 375 Degrees
Now, you got all of your Ingredients near your mixing Bowl and you are set to put all of this together. Just imagine an Old, very Old Lady, my grandma, is next to you HELPING you make this super Pie-YOUR CHOCOLATE PECAN PIE! And she’s a super sweet Lady named Ora.
Boy, she had an Old-School name for sure and Ora Fay Sims could cook the cooking apron off anyone. Everyone came to eat her COOKING. Especially Sunday afternoon. But she’s gone now, but not her memory and Recipes.
First-In a Mixer Bowl like in the above Picture, MELT THE BUTTER.
Then ADD the THREE EGGS and MIX them. Mix them eggs up like you was making scrambled eggs and don’t let them be looking at you with yellow eyes.
Then ADD the DARK KARO and MIX. It’s a thick mix and it will change as you mix, not long at all.
Mix slowly. It’s not a SPEED RACE. Won’t take long at all. Take a moment to enjoy what you are making. It’s a super delicious pie that they gonna want more of for sure.
Then ADD the SUGAR and MIX.
YES, THAT’S THE SIMPLE PLASTIC Hand MIXER I USED ALONG WITH SOME ELBOW GREASE. Not much, just enough for a simple Senior Citizen uses.
Hey, it should be OBVIOUS to you on how long to mix each time when you have the mixture mixed enough each time I tell you to MIX. I did not mix for over a minute at any time. It mixes very quickly, but mix it slow and get it right.
NOT LONG AT ALL.
Then ADD the SEMI-SWEET CHOCOLATE MORSELS and MIX.
Then ADD the PECANS and MIX. Mixture will be pretty thick and dark looking. No, the TOLL HOUSE SEMI-SWEET CHOCOLATE MORSELS are not to mixed until they break-up. They will melt while cooking.
Then ADD your Pie-Mixed Ingredients into the PIE SHELL. I went in a circular motion when I poured mine because I did not want the Chocolate Morsels or Pecans to be lumped-up in only one area of the pie shell.
Now put the PIE on a COOKIE SHEET that has a sheet of Aluminum Foil on it for easy cleaning.
Then when the OVEN is at 375 Degrees,
PUT IT IN THE OVEN carefully.
COOK FOR 50 MINUTES
Set that timer as quickly as you can after you put your Pie in the OVEN.
Then at the END of 50 Minutes, take it out and set it safely on a surface to cool down. Lord, I am Old cause I still remember using a Pie Cooler that looks like this-
They were just furniture looking things that usually had a metal screen so flies could not get in at your pies. I always put them in the top part like on the above one. Most of them were sitting in someone’s kitchen or on the Back Porch. But let your fresh cooked Pie to cool before moving it after you set it down after you remove it from the OVEN.
DANGER:THIS PIE IS SUPER HOT AFTER YOU TAKE IT OUT OF THE OVEN and make sure you put it aside somewhere safe where little KIDS cannot grab it or turn it over on them. Sit it down as soon as removing it from the OVEN and leave it alone.
Let it COOL DOWN for 1- 2 Hours.
Then I put my Pie in the Refrigerator for 1-3 hours.
I like mine COOL, but after an hour of cooling, you can eat it very warm.
Well, that’s it. Doesn’t that look amazing? So much Chocolate that will make you smile.
The chocolate smell is Heavenly.
That wonderful chocolate taste is just so very fine.
Those amazing FRESH PECANS only ripe right now this time of the year for a Super Taste in YOUR PIE.
I hope that you and your family have a very nice, wonderful, and safe Thanksgiving.
CONGRATULATIONS! You’ve made your 1st pie and it’s gonna taste twice as good the next day.
And if there is no one except your Chocolate Loving Heart, make it for yourself.
This pie makes SIX slices.
Enjoy, your Chocolate Pecan Pie.
